"Greatest 2 minutes in Sports" St. E's Fundraising Event

St. Elizabeth Shelters is grateful to have been chosen to succeed Habitat for Humanity as the new beneficiary of the annual Kentucky Derby fundraising event. This year’s event will take place from 2 – 5 pm on May 1st 2021 at HIPICO Santa Fe (former Santa Fe Polo grounds). This will be a socially distanced event outdoors following all statewide Covid-19 protocols.

All proceeds from the day will support St. Elizabeth’s newest housing program, the Santa Fe Suites located adjacent to the Plaza Entrada shopping center at St. Francis and Zia. This mixed-use complex features 120 fully furnished studio apartments with 40 units dedicated for people recently transitioning from homelessness and 80 units for lower- and moderate-income individuals. On-site program and case managers provide a full range of supportive services designed to help the residents maintain their housing and independence.

The Derby is renowned as “the greatest two minutes in sports.” This year will feature a “Run for the Roses” celebration that includes a tailgate party, live music, virtual auction and contests for best fancy hat and tailgate décor in a “Derbies Gone By” theme. Live on big screens in socially distanced Pods.
