Honoring the life of Shane Lampman. Community advocate, friend and colleague. We will miss you!

We at Saint Elizabeth Shelter were extremely saddened to learn that our colleague, co-worker and friend Shane Lampman passed away in his sleep earlier this week. Shane began as an intern with Saint Elizabeth Shelter in May 1994 and left in 1997. In the beginning of September of 2008 he came back to be a case manager working directly with individuals at our emergency men's shelter, then he used his IT skills and became the data manager. Finally, in September 2016, Shane became the program manager of our Casa Cerrillos program. No matter which position Shane was filling, his focus was always on the safety and well being of the homeless. His goal wasn't to help individuals survive, but thrive.

While his weekdays were focused on the homeless, in the evenings he was lifted up to the heavens with his brilliant astronomical photography and on weekends, holidays and vacations he was lovingly devoted to his close family: his nephew, mother, sister and brother-in-law.

Shane's passing will leave a significant hole in our community. We at St. E's plan to plant a tree and place a plaque at our Casa Cerrillos program to honor this wonderful man and the life he lived. There is a Gofundme campaign that is specifically for Shane's family to aid with memorial and funeral expenses which can be found here: Shane Lampman Celebration Fund. We appreciate your thoughtful and generous contribution to honor one of Santa Fe's heroes and one of our special staff, Shane Lampman.
