Winter is around the Corner: Call for Blankets
Men's Shelter Supervisor, Ben Myler, receiving blankets.
The temperature is dropping, and as always, one of our responses is to provide blankets and coats to those in need of warmth. If you are able to, please consider donating blankets to our Women and Families' Shelter (Casa Familia) and our Men's Shelter, where we distribute blankets to people coming in off the streets or otherwise in need.
Many people will stay at our shelters in the coming months, and we will provide them with the warmth of hot meals, beds, and case management, as they work towards finding stable housing. Others will stay at Pete's Place, where they're provided with sleeping bags, meals, and other services throughout the winter months. Still, there will be people who will continue sleeping outside or in cars, and there are many more experiencing poverty, who will face the challenge of paying their utilities throughout the winter months.
Both the Men's Shelter and Casa Familia are locations where our neighbors experiencing poverty know they can turn to for services. Please help us continue to be a resource for Santa Fe by dropping off blankets at either of our shelters.
